Granite is Suitable for Covering Floors, Walls and Facades

The stone paving is beautiful, durable and abrasion resistant and can be used indoors and outdoors.

The granite stone paving has long been among the most traditional solutions used in the finish. The rock stands out not only for its aesthetics, but also for its high resistance combined with high durability. Advantages like these make the stone one of the best alternatives for ornamentation and lining of buildings. About 80% of the total volume of granite is used to coat floors, walls and facades, as well as sink tops, desks and counters. Because of its resistance to atmospheric pollution, chemically aggressive cleaning products and abrasion, the material is conventionally specifiable without restriction for internal and external environments.

According to the professional, the material has modernized over time and continues to evolve thanks to the advancement of the technologies of mining, processing and application, related to new face finishes, surface treatments, fixing mortars and, above all, machining of parts through automatic multifunction lathes.

The granite can be used for both vertical coatings as floors. When indicated for walls or facades, the fixture utilizes mortars and grooving, with reinforcement of metal pins, or only metal pins in aerated / ventilated coatings. In the same way, the stone can be fixed to the floor with the use of mortars or, still, be high / floating, supported on supports. Flexible bonding mortars are preferable to conventional cement solutions, in order to prevent the effects of rising humidity and the appearance of stains.

Granite sinks are present in most of the buildings throughout the country. The protagonism is justified by its resistance to chemicals that are commonly used in cleaning the kitchens. The maintenance of the stone is quite simple. It is recommended to clean regularly and only carried out with a damp cloth, without excess water or aggressive products.
